James Napier 68

Grantor: James Napier and his wife, Mary.
James' occupation is given as trader.
      Description: sold land in Freehold
      Grantee: John Smith.
According to the deed this same property was conveyed to James from
Alexander Napier on 1737 Apr 6 (NJA, East Jersey Deeds, V_I2, P364). I
do not have a copy of the 1737 deed, however you can probably obtain it
from the NJ State Archives. Perhaps the deed will state the
relationship between James and Alexander Napier.
In vol. 2 of Calender of Wills, there is an abstract for the will of
Alexander Napier of Freehold. The will was written 1744 May 8, and
      1744 Feb 5
Alexander names daughter Elizabeth English, and grandchildren
David Watson, Mary Buckelow, Euphon (Watson-wife of Joseph Smith),
Margaret, Agnes, and Elizabeth Watson, Zilpah Smith, John Napier who
was a minor, and David English.
Executors were son-in-law David English, and friend John Henderson.
Alexander's inventory included the bonds of James Napier and
John Smith, who was also a trader.
Also in vol. 2 of Calender of Wills there is an abstract for the will
of Margaret Smith of Middletown, widow. She died intestate, and on
22 Jul 1744 James Napier of Freehold, merchant, was appointed
administrator. John Smith, also a merchant in Freehold, was fellow
      bondsman.
Both wills can be ordered from the
NJ Archives. The ref. for Alexander Napier's will is Liber D p. 229.
      Margaret Smith's will is Liber C p. 426.
dm 1829 Jul 25 (this could be a son of John, but not listed as such. So,
      I assume John's father.

It is not enough to educate. There must be goals afterward.
The most significant of those goals should be space.
Earth and humanitarian projects should be right behind,
with the space effort guiding all others.
